NSW Wavesailing Association
2006-07 Calendar

The 2006-07 NSWWA Calendar has been set!!!

This season is shaping up to break all the records with fun levels up by 76.438% and food and beverage quality up by a whopping 97.21%, hell, we have even managed to secure 25 kts and 3/4 mast minimum at every event! (still under negotiation with the wind gods, but looking promising). Liz is already on the case with our already very supportive sponsors to secure an even better prize pool (remember to support the people that support us!).

This season we will be making a few minor changes to the format to secure more definitive results for each division. The main one being that the Amateur Men will be competing with only other Amateur Men on the water, and the Open Pros competing only with Open Pros. The goal of this is to give the Amateurs a more even playing field on which to compete, without the pesky Pros getting in the way and having the opportunity to sail a 'proper' Amateur Final at each event. We will also be reducing the heat sizes to a maximum of 8 sailors (for safety reasons), so everyone will have more room to shine; time on water for each sailor will not be affected.

This season sees a new payment scheme, which will be as follows:
1. Prepay before Heat 1 - $130 for the entire season (prepay will start from July 1).
2. Pay at Heat 1 in person - $150 for the entire season.
3. Pay membership at first comp you attend - $50 + $30 for each individual comp thereafter.

Your membership with the NSWWA will give you the following:

  • Insurance for the season (from the date you register)

  • T-shirt

  • BBQ and liquid refreshment at every event

  • Your chance for cash and prizes at each event (over $16000 last year!)

  • Coaching clinics with ex and current national wavesailing title holders

  • DVD produced by Whitewash Productions of the previous seasons action

  • Presentation dinner at the end of season

  • Access to website for self promotion, photo galleries, etc

  • Membership card entitling holder to discounts at various windsurfing retailers

  • Newsletters keeping you up to date with all the news from the wavesailing world, both local and abroad

As you can see membership definitely has its advantages!!!

So from the committee and myself train hard during the off season and come out fighting at Birubi. Here's looking forward to the best season ever!

Thanks,

Dan
