Learning to Windsurf
Ok, do you want to have a go at learning the BEST sport in the world?
We have some options for you as follows:
• NSWWA “Try Windsurfing Days” – keep checking the website www.nswwavesailing.org for the details of the next event. It’s free and a LOT of FUN.
• Learn at Dobroyd Sailing club – they give you the lessons free of charge but you do need to join the club and lease their boards. Still very good value. Phone Glen on 02 9713 8868
• Learn at Balmoral Windsurfing – details can be found at http://www.sailboard.net.au/ or 02 99605344. Check out their “blown away holidays” – great for a fun and intensive learning experience
• Private lessons – James Grunfelder – he has the instructors certificate and AYF insurance. Contact him on au_109@hotmail.com OR Rhys Herbert 0403 510 306 also provides private lessons
• Windsurfing Weekend at Pacific Palms (Mayall Lakes) – contact Chris on 02 6554 2424 or email chriskelemen@yahoo.com.au
When you have got the basic skills together, your options are:
• East Coast Boardriders – have a great deal where you can borrow some of their limited gear to race at their NSW competitions. Free if you are under 18 or a lady – Ring them on 02 9905 7664
• Plus you can buy new or second hand gear from your local windsurf shop or NSWWA sponsors EastCoastBoardriders (02 9905 7664) or Long Reef Sailboards (02 9982 4829)
Then when you are up to in intermediate standard on flat water, come along to us at NSW Wavesailing and we will loan you wavesailing gear free of charge. Check out the details here.
So get out there and enjoy it!
